The Red Wings are at 23 wins in a row

“Where are we at with the streak?” Drew Miller asked after a 3-2 victory Sunday against the San Jose Sharks.

“We’ve got a good thing going, but we need to take it on the road,” Miller said.

Henrik Zetterberg and Miller gave Detroit a two-goal lead midway through the second period. After Logan Couture scored late in the second period for San Jose, Darren Helm restored the two-goal edge 7:01 into the third.

Patrick Marleau added a goal for the Sharks with 4:44 left.

The Red Wings ended a five-game regular-season losing streak against San Jose, which has eliminated them in the second round in each of the past two postseasons.

“We have a lot of rivals, but that’s the one we seem to play a lot in the playoffs,” Zetterberg said. “So you want to win each game against them.”

As the Sharks captain Joe Thornton was leaving the arena, someone said he would see him again in Detroit for the playoffs.

“Absolutely,” Thornton said with a smile.
